Calling all Sports Moms (or Dads)

As many of my frequent readers know my son plays baseball and my daughter is a horsewoman. (is that the current politically correct term). If your kids play sports, anything from bowling to baseball you know there is a myriad of issues to deal with.

My toughest challenge is scheduling. There is one of me and two of them and it is tough to be in more than one place at a time.

We also struggle with eating properly, time management (laundry at midnight on Sunday night is not on the top of my favorites list), self confidence, good sportsmanship, crazy parents (there is always one you want to slap)...then there is dealing with failure and graciously winning (so far that has not been a problem - our baseball team does not win much)

No matter the age of your child or the sport they play all Sports Moms want their kids to be successful, happy, healthy and grow up to be positive, productive adults.

I was recently lucky enough to participate in a informational seminar sponsored by Gatorade that featured not only a ton of information on the science behind the Gatorade products and their new BECOME Campaign, but also a testimonial and question and answer period with soccer star Mia Hamm's mother Stephanie. She is truly an expert on raising athletes, she has six children! She had some great advice and insight on being a Mom in 2011. Take a look at her message in this YouTube video

Gatorade has a new resource for Sports Moms that is full of information, experts and real life people with answers to questions on how to juggle all of the above!

With advice on everything from nutrition to scheduling there is something here for everyone.

Check out the BECOME site between June 1st and June 30th and you may win a $100.00 gift card to Dick's Sporting Goods. Once you check out BECOME comment on this post with what you think your biggest challenge in being a Sports Mom (or Dad) is.....Good Luck!
